Guwahati, 23 June (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday paid heartfelt tributes to Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee on his Balidan Diwas, remembering him as a great nationalist leader, eminent educationist and founder of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh.

In a message shared on social media, the Chief Minister said Dr. Mookerjee dedicated his entire life to safeguarding the unity, integrity and national pride of the country. He noted that Dr. Mookerjee’s unwavering commitment to the principle of “Nation First,” along with his sacrifice, struggle and patriotism, continues to inspire generations of Indians.

Dr. Sarma further said that the life and service of Dr. Mookerjee, devoted to the cause of the nation, will always remain a shining source of inspiration for the people of the country. He also offered his humble homage to the late leader on the occasion of his martyrdom day.---------------
