NEW DELHI, June 2 (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that determination and self-discipline are powerful qualities that can make even the most difficult path easier to navigate. He noted that the nation’s youth are actively contributing to nation-building with this very spirit of commitment and resolve.
In a post on his X handle, the Prime Minister shared a Sanskrit maxim along with his message:
“निश्चित्य यः प्रक्रमते नान्तर्वसति कर्मणः।
अबन्ध्यकालो वश्यात्मा स वै पण्डित उच्यते॥”
The verse is taken from ‘Vidura Niti’, composed by Mahatma Vidura in the Udyoga Parva of the Mahabharata.
Sharing the message, Prime Minister Modi said that firm determination and self-restraint are strengths that help individuals overcome even the most challenging circumstances. He added that the country’s young generation is continuously engaged in the task of nation-building with the same sense of purpose and dedication.
The verse encapsulates the essence of success, wisdom, and effective action. It teaches that unwavering determination, consistency in effort, proper use of time, and self-control are essential ingredients for achieving success in life.
According to the teaching of Vidura Niti, a truly wise person is one who begins a task only after careful deliberation, remains steadfast in completing it, does not waste time, and exercises control over the mind and senses. Such qualities, the Prime Minister indicated, remain highly relevant in modern life and in the collective journey of national development.
