Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday highlighted India's rapid transformation into a global technology and innovation powerhouse while addressing VivaTech 2026 in Paris, one of Europe's largest technology and startup events. He said India's digital revolution, thriving startup ecosystem, and innovation-driven governance are creating meaningful change in the lives of millions of people.
Addressing entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, and technology leaders, Modi spoke about India's remarkable progress in technology, innovation, and startups, emphasizing that digital solutions are being used not only to drive economic growth but also to improve governance and deliver public services efficiently.
The Prime Minister said India's technology ecosystem is focused on inclusive development, with digital platforms enabling greater financial inclusion, easier access to government services, healthcare, education, and entrepreneurship. He noted that innovation has become a key pillar of India's growth story and continues to attract global investment and talent.
Following his address, Modi shared his views on social media, expressing satisfaction at participating in the event. He said he was pleased to speak at VivaTech 2026 and highlight India's achievements in technology, innovation, and startups, adding that the country is leveraging technology to bring a positive difference to people's lives.
Later on Thursday, Modi toured the exhibition area of VivaTech 2026 alongside French President Emmanuel Macron. The two leaders interacted with startup founders, innovators, and exhibitors showcasing cutting-edge technologies in artificial intelligence, deep technology, sustainable mobility, robotics, and other emerging sectors.
Reflecting on the visit, the Prime Minister praised the vibrant atmosphere at the exhibition, saying the energy and enthusiasm on display had to be seen to be believed.
Modi's participation in VivaTech 2026 formed an important part of his visit to France and underscored India's growing engagement with global innovation ecosystems.
