New Delhi, 19 June (H.S.): Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Friday wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging the Centre to provide financial assistance of Rs 1 crore to the families of students who allegedly died by suicide amid recent examination-related controversies. He also renewed his demand for the removal of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, holding the ministry accountable for alleged lapses in the conduct of national examinations.
In his appeal, Dipke expressed concern over the mental distress faced by students due to examination cancellations, allegations of paper leaks and uncertainty surrounding competitive entrance tests. He argued that repeated irregularities in the examination system have placed immense psychological pressure on students and their families, calling for immediate measures to restore confidence in the country's education system.
The CJP founder also sought greater accountability from the Union Education Ministry, alleging that repeated examination controversies have eroded public trust. He called for administrative responsibility to be fixed and reiterated his demand that the Education Minister be removed from office.
The letter comes ahead of the organisation's proposed protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Saturday, June 20. According to CJP, the demonstration is intended to highlight concerns over alleged examination irregularities and press the government to introduce stronger safeguards to ensure fairness and transparency in competitive examinations.
The campaign follows widespread criticism over the handling of several entrance examinations, including the NEET-UG examination, which was cancelled after allegations of a question paper leak. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is investigating the matter, while the National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced a fresh examination schedule and enhanced security measures.
