New Delhi, 19 June (H.S.): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent participation in the G7 Summit and his visit to Slovakia have further strengthened India's growing stature on the global stage. The party noted that this was the first-ever visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Slovakia, where Prime Minister Modi was conferred the country's highest civilian honour.

Addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi on Friday, the party's National Spokesperson and Member of Parliament, Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi, said that it was during the BJP's tenure that India was first invited to participate in the G7 as a special invitee.

He noted that this first occurred in 2003 during the tenure of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Dr. Trivedi said India played a significant role during the G7 Summit and held several bilateral meetings with participating nations. He added that India presented the proposal for the International Mobilisation Partnership for Accelerating Connectivity and Trade (IMPACT) before the G7 countries, which, according to him, generated interest among the member nations. He described this as further evidence of India's expanding global influence.

He also said that Prime Minister Modi has so far received 33 international honours, reflecting the global recognition and acceptance of his leadership.

Dr. Trivedi said that under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, India continues to earn the confidence of the world's leading nations. He also described France's decision to provide opportunities for 30,000 Indian students annually in the field of STEM education as a testament to the strengthening strategic partnership between India and France.
