
Bhubaneswar, 18 June (H.S.): President Droupadi Murmu is set to embark on a two-day official visit to Odisha beginning Frirday , during which she will inaugurate a series of developmental and public welfare projects in Mayurbhanj district. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to join the President on June 20 for a joint programme focusing on tribal heritage, skill development and regional growth initiatives.
According to the official itinerary, President Murmu will arrive at the Dandbose Airstrip at 3:45 PM on June 19 and proceed to Rairangpur to launch several key infrastructure and community development projects.
Among the major initiatives lined up for inauguration are the AIIMS Bhubaneswar Satellite Centre at the Sub-Divisional Hospital (SDH), Rairangpur, and a special medical camp organised by AIIMS Bhubaneswar. The President will also dedicate a mega integrated rural piped water supply project aimed at providing safe drinking water to mining-affected villages in Kusumi block.
Her engagements on the first day will further include the inauguration of the Brahma Kumaris’ Matrushakti Bhavan, a newly constructed Special Circuit House and the newly established Rairangpur Police District.
On June 20, President Murmu will visit her native village Pahadpur at 10:00 AM. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to arrive there around 11:00 AM. The two leaders will then participate in a series of programmes highlighting Odisha’s tribal culture and development initiatives.
As part of the joint visit, Prime Minister Modi will offer prayers at Jahira, a revered spiritual site of local tribal communities, and pay respects to tribal deities. The President and Prime Minister will subsequently visit a local skill development centre, where they are scheduled to interact with trainees and review ongoing capacity-building programmes.
The visit will conclude at the SLS Trust School grounds, where President Murmu will accompany the Prime Minister through an exhibition showcasing locally manufactured products and regional handicrafts. The dignitaries will also interact with students, highlighting the government's focus on education, youth empowerment and inclusive development.
The high-profile visit is expected to draw significant attention as it combines infrastructure development, healthcare expansion, tribal welfare and educational outreach under a joint programme led by the President and the Prime Minister.
