
Administration, Police on High Alert as CM Nayab Singh Saini Directs Fair and Transparent Conduct of Exam
Chandigarh, 18 June (H.S.): The Haryana government has made extensive security and administrative arrangements for the fair, peaceful and transparent conduct of the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination scheduled for June 21. Acting on the directions of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, the state government, district administrations and Haryana Police have put in place a multi-layered security framework to ensure that candidates get a safe and hassle-free examination environment.
The examination will be held across 19 districts, including Gurugram, Faridabad, Sonipat, Jhajjar, Rohtak, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Kaithal, Panipat, Hisar, Rewari, Jind, Nuh, Bhiwani, Palwal, Sirsa and Mahendragarh. Adequate police personnel, duty magistrates, male and female frisking teams and Quick Response Teams will be deployed at every examination centre.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has directed officials to ensure proper security, traffic management, medical assistance, drinking water and other essential facilities for candidates. The government has said that maintaining transparency and fairness in the examination is directly linked to protecting the future of the state’s youth.
Director General of Police Ajay Singhal said Haryana Police is fully prepared to ensure the peaceful and impartial conduct of NEET-UG 2026. He has instructed Police Commissioners, Superintendents of Police and senior officers to regularly monitor security arrangements, conduct surprise inspections and remain alert throughout the examination process. The DGP warned that strict legal action would be taken against exam mafias, rumour-mongers and disruptive elements.
A dual-layer frisking system has been introduced at all examination centres. The first round of checking will be conducted by police and Home Guard personnel before candidates reach the main gate, while the second round will take place inside the centre premises. At least one frisking official will be deployed for every 100 candidates, and women will make up at least 50 per cent of the frisking teams. Hand-held metal detectors and CCTV surveillance will also be used at critical points.
Candidates will not be allowed to carry mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, tablets, smartwatches, electronic gadgets, jewellery, books, notes, loose papers or any prohibited material inside the centres.
Intelligence units have been activated to keep a close watch on exam mafias and suspicious activities. Coaching centres, hotels, lodges, cyber cafés and other sensitive locations near examination centres will be checked. Social media platforms will also be monitored to prevent rumours, misinformation, paper leaks or fraud.
Special arrangements have also been made for traffic, parking and emergency assistance. Quick Response Teams led by Inspector-rank officers will remain ready in every district. Candidates needing urgent help to reach their examination centre can call 112, and an ERSS vehicle may be provided if required.
