Indore, 18 June (H.S.):

Chambal Gharials continued their dominant run in the Madhya Pradesh League (MPL) T20 Scindia Cup 2026, maintaining their unbeaten record with seven consecutive victories. Expressing delight over the team's remarkable campaign, captain Shubham Sharma said the consistent success has been a rewarding experience and credited the team's rigorous pre-tournament preparations for its outstanding performances.

The Gharials extended their winning streak on Wednesday night by defeating Bundelkhand Bulls by 39 runs at the Holkar Stadium in Indore. With the victory, Chambal Gharials consolidated their position at the top of the points table with 14 points.

Speaking after the match, Sharma said, Winning seven matches in a row feels great. As long as we keep winning, the atmosphere in the dressing room remains positive. At the same time, we know there are still areas where we can improve.

He added that every match presents different challenges, and the contest against Bundelkhand Bulls was no exception. We lost a few early wickets, so building partnerships became crucial. Our preparation before the tournament played a major role in our success. We trained together extensively in Gwalior and developed strong team chemistry, which has helped us deliver consistent performances, he said.

Batting first, Chambal Gharials posted a formidable total of 218 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs, thanks to an impressive 81 from captain Shubham Sharma and a well-crafted 50 by Tripuresh Singh. Ankush Singh contributed 26 runs, Aman Bhadauria scored 15, Mayur Patel remained unbeaten on 13, and Avesh Khan added seven runs.

For Bundelkhand Bulls, Anant Dubey was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets. Yash Patidar, Harshit Parsai, Shivang Kumar, and Vikrant Bhadoriya claimed one wicket each.

Chasing a target of 219, Bundelkhand Bulls suffered an early setback when Bhumesh Mujalda was dismissed for one run. Shivang Kumar and Abhishek Pathak attempted to rebuild the innings with a 36-run partnership for the second wicket before Shivang departed for 12 off nine balls. Pathak followed after scoring 31 off 18 deliveries.

Harsh Gawli and Parth Goswami fought hard until the end but were unable to take their team across the finish line. Gawli remained unbeaten on 70 from 48 balls, while Goswami contributed 55 from 44 deliveries.

For Chambal Gharials, Tripuresh Singh claimed two wickets, while Avesh Khan and Sandeep Singh picked up one wicket each, helping seal a comprehensive 39-run victory.
