Bhubaneswar, 18 June (H.S.): Residents of Odisha can expect significant relief from the prevailing heat and humid conditions as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast widespread rainfall across the state until June 22. The weather department has also indicated the possibility of a low-pressure system developing over the region next week, which could further enhance rainfall activity.
According to the IMD, several districts are likely to experience heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong gusty winds over the coming days. The forecast comes amid recent incidents of lightning-related fatalities and rain-triggered accidents reported from different parts of the state.
