Antigua, 17 June (H.S.): Cricket West Indies has announced its squad for the upcoming two-match home Test series against Sri Lanka, with fast bowlers Alzarri Joseph and Shamar Joseph returning to the Test side after recovering from injuries.

Wicketkeeper-batter Joshua Da Silva and left-handed batter Amir Jangoo have also earned recalls to the national squad.

Alzarri Joseph and Shamar Joseph had been sidelined during last year's tours of India and New Zealand due to injuries. Both last featured in a Test match against Australia in 2025. Their return significantly strengthens the West Indies pace attack, which also includes experienced fast bowlers Kemar Roach and Jayden Seales.

Joshua Da Silva has returned as the team's wicketkeeper after an outstanding domestic season. He scored 413 runs in seven innings during the recent West Indies Championship, finishing as the tournament's leading run-scorer.

Meanwhile, Tevin Imlach, who kept wickets during the previous tour, has not been included in the main squad. Instead, he has been appointed captain of the West Indies Select XI for the four-day practice match against Sri Lanka, scheduled from June 18 to 21.

Left-handed batter Amir Jangoo also returns to the Test squad after a lengthy absence. He impressed the selectors by scoring 411 runs in seven innings during the domestic season.

Head coach Daren Sammy said that every Test series presents an opportunity for the team to strengthen its identity and continue improving.

He added that Sri Lanka is a strong side and that the West Indies will need to produce their best cricket to succeed.

Sammy also revealed that the players have been participating in a high-performance training camp in Antigua since June 12, providing the squad with valuable preparation ahead of the series.

The series forms part of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship cycle, in which the West Indies are currently placed ninth. The first Test will be played from June 25 to 29, while the second Test is scheduled from July 3 to 7, with both matches to be held at North Sound.

West Indies Test Squad:

Roston Chase (Captain), Jomel Warrican (Vice-Captain), John Campbell, Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Joshua Da Silva (Wicketkeeper), Justin Greaves, Kavem Hodge, Shai Hope, Amir Jangoo, Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, Brandon King, Anderson Phillip, Kemar Roach and Jayden Seales.
