Bhubaneswar, 17 June (H.S.): The Mayurbhanj district administration has imposed restrictions on media access to Pahadpur village on June 20 in view of the high-security arrangements for the scheduled visit of President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In an official communication, the District Information and Public Relations Officer (DI&PRO) directed representatives of both print and electronic media not to visit or enter Pahadpur during the VVIP visit. The decision was taken following recommendations from the District Intelligence Bureau and the Superintendent of Police to ensure the smooth and secure conduct of the programme.
The communication stated that media personnel would not be permitted entry into the village on security grounds and urged media organisations to cooperate with the administration in adhering to the prescribed security protocols.
“Hence it is requested to pass necessary direction to DI and PRO, Mayurbhanj, Baripada to communicate the mediapersons not to go to Pahadpur during the visit of the Hon’ble President of India and the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India on June 20, 2026, as they will not be allowed for the same on security grounds,” the official communication noted.
According to the scheduled programme, President Droupadi Murmu is expected to arrive in Mayurbhanj on June 19, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit the district on June 20. Both dignitaries are likely to visit Pahadpur village as part of their itinerary.
