
New Delhi, June 16 (HS): BJP MLA Satish Upadhyay on Tuesday assumed charge as Vice Chairman of the Delhi Jal Board (DJB).
On the occasion, MLAs Ajay Mahawar and Manoj Shokeen, along with Delhi Cantonment Board member Rajesh Goyal, took oath as members of the Delhi Jal Board.
Several dignitaries, including BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj, DJB Chief Executive Officer Dr. Sajjan Singh Yadav and Member (Finance) Aman Gupta, were present during the programme and extended their greetings to the newly appointed office-bearers.
Speakers at the event expressed confidence that under the new leadership, the Delhi Jal Board would work towards strengthening water supply, sewage management and citizen services in the national capital.
The Delhi Jal Board was constituted on March 30, 1998, and is responsible for water supply, collection, treatment and disposal of wastewater and sewage in the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
