
Evian (France), June 16 (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Evian, France, on Tuesday to participate in the G7 Summit, where global leaders are expected to discuss a range of issues including international security, economic cooperation and emerging technologies.
India is participating in the summit as a partner country at the invitation of France, which is hosting the 52nd G7 Summit under its current presidency.
During the visit, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to participate in a working session on the theme Forging New Partnerships and Rebuilding International Solidarity alongside leaders of G7 nations, partner countries and representatives of international financial institutions.
According to official sources, Modi is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with US President Donald Trump, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the sidelines of the summit.
The Prime Minister will also attend a gala dinner hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron.
Earlier, PM Modi concluded his visit to Slovakia, where he held talks with Prime Minister Robert Fico and discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in several sectors.
India's participation in the G7 Summit reflects its growing engagement in global discussions on issues relating to development, economic growth, technology, climate and international cooperation.
