BANGKOK, June 12 (HS/RIA Novosti) - Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone will pay an official visit to Russia next week and take part in the anniversary Russia-Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit, the Lao Foreign Ministry said on Friday.
In response to the invitation of H.E. Mr. Mikhail Mishustin, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, H.E. Mr. Sonexay Siphandone, Prime Minister of the Lao People's Democratic Republic will be leading the high-ranking delegation of the Lao PDR to pay a Visit to the Russian Federation on 14-17 June 2026 in Moscow. Following the Visit, H.E. Mr. Sonexay Siphandone will lead the delegation to attend the 35th Anniversary of ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit, the ministry said in a press release.
The trip reflects Laos' ongoing commitment to regional and international cooperation and provides an opportunity for the country to engage in discussions at both bilateral and multilateral levels, the ministry said.
The anniversary summit marking 35 years of Russia-ASEAN relations will take place in the Russian city of Kazan from June 17-19.
