Washington, 10 June (H.S.): U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that Iran shot down an American military helicopter near the Strait of Hormuz. He said the United States is treating the incident with utmost seriousness and warned that an appropriate response would follow.

According to Trump, the aircraft involved was a U.S. Army AH-64 Apache attack helicopter. However, both pilots were rescued safely and are reported to be in stable condition. Holding Iran directly responsible for the incident, the U.S. President stated that the United States would not remain silent on the matter.

Meanwhile, U.S. Central Command spokesperson Captain Tim Hawkins said that an unmanned drone boat was used for the first time during the rescue operation. According to him, after the helicopter crashed into the sea, the drone vessel located both pilots and played a crucial role in bringing them to safety after they had spent nearly two hours in the water.

Captain Hawkins described the mission as a significant example of the application of advanced military rescue technology. He said the drone boat successfully reached the pilots under difficult conditions and contributed substantially to saving their lives.

Trump reiterated that the United States was closely monitoring the situation and would take appropriate measures in response to what he described as a hostile act against American military personnel.

However, no official response from Iran has been issued so far regarding the U.S. claims.
