MOSCOW, June 10 (HS/RIA Novosti) - The number of confirmed Ebola cases in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has risen to 598, with 115 fatalities, the Ministry of Communications and Media has said.

[A total of] 598 confirmed cases and 115 deaths recorded in the provinces of Ituri, North Kivu, and South Kivu, the ministry said on X on Tuesday.

A total of 297 patients are receiving treatment in medical facilities, while 22 people have recovered, the ministry added.

On Monday, The World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed 550 Ebola infections and 101 deaths from the disease in the DRC.

On May 15, the WHO declared the Ebola outbreak in the DRC and Uganda an emergency that poses a risk to other countries, assessing the regional risk of virus spread as high.
