
MOSCOW, June 10 (HS/RIA Novosti) - French President Emmanuel Macron invited Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to the G7 summit, scheduled for the next week, Politico reported, citing officials.
The two Gulf leaders were invited to join the talks to discuss security and the resumption of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, the report said on Tuesday.
The emir accepted the invitation, the report read, adding that it is unclear whether the Saudi prince will attend the event.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Sisi will also participate in the talks as a representative of a G7 partner country, the report noted.
