BEIRUT, June 10 (HS/RIA Novosti) - The death toll from Israeli strikes on two neighborhoods in the southern Lebanese city of Tyre has risen to 11, with more than 40 people injured, the Lebanese Health Ministry said.
According to final reports, the Israeli strike on the Masaken neighborhood in Tyre killed eight people, including a woman, and injured 35 others, including three children and six women, the ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
Another Israeli strike hit the Al-Bass neighborhood in Tyre, which resulted in deaths of three people and injuries of nine others, the statement added.
On March 2, the Hezbollah movement began rocket and drone attacks on Israel against the backdrop of the US and Israeli war against Iran. In response, Israel carried out massive airstrikes on Hezbollah targets in Beirut's southern suburbs, as well as in southern and eastern Lebanon, and launched a ground operation in the south of the country, announcing a new military campaign against the Shiite resistance.
On April 16, the US-brokered talks resulted in a ceasefire agreement, although Israel continues daily attacks on dozens of settlements in southern Lebanon. Hezbollah responds with attacks against Israeli forces.
