
New Delhi, June 1 (H.S.): As part of the nationwide celebration ‘Janjatiya Garima Utsav’ (Tribal Pride Festival), President Droupadi Murmu will interact with nearly 200 tribal students who are beneficiaries of key Central Sector Scholarship schemes of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs at a special interactive session at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday.
According to the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, the interaction is being organized during Birsa Lives in New Bharat Week, which is being observed from May 25 to June 2, 2026, in honour of the inspiring legacy of Birsa Munda. The nationwide Janjatiya Garima Utsav is being celebrated from May 10 to June 9, 2026. The interaction is expected to highlight the government’s unwavering commitment to educational empowerment, social inclusion, and nation-building.
The primary objective of this special engagement is to encourage tribal students to pursue academic excellence, leadership, and innovation, thereby contributing to the realization of the goals of Viksit Bharat 2047 through inclusive and transformative tribal empowerment.
The event will bring together approximately 200 meritorious tribal students from across the country who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in higher education, advanced research, and international academic pursuits.
The participating students are beneficiaries of three flagship scholarship schemes administered by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. These include the National Fellowship for Scheduled Tribes, the National Scholarship Scheme for Higher Education of ST Students, and the National Overseas Scholarship for ST Students.
According to the ministry, these 200 students represent some of the brightest young minds from tribal communities across India. Through their accomplishments in advanced research, higher education, and global academic engagement, they are bringing recognition and distinction to the nation while serving as role models for future generations.
The interaction at Rashtrapati Bhavan is expected to provide the students with a unique opportunity to engage directly with the President and draw inspiration for their future academic and professional journeys.
