New Delhi, June 1 (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday shared a Sanskrit Subhashita on X, emphasizing the qualities that define an ideal teacher. He said that while some individuals are exceptionally skilled at performing a task themselves, others possess a unique ability to impart that knowledge or skill effectively to others.
The Prime Minister noted that a person who combines self-mastery with the ability to teach and guide others deserves to be counted among the finest educators.
Sharing the Sanskrit verse on X, PM Modi wrote:
Śliṣṭā kriyā kasyacid ātmasaṃsthā saṅkrāntir anyasya viśeṣayuktā।
Yaśobhayam sādhu sa śikṣaṇānāṃ dhurī pratiṣṭhāpayitavya eva॥
Explaining the essence of the verse, the Prime Minister said that while some people excel through practice and personal accomplishment, and others excel in teaching, the individual who not only attains mastery in a subject but also possesses the ability to effectively transmit that knowledge to others is worthy of being placed in the highest rank of teachers.
The Sanskrit Subhashita underscores the significance of both personal excellence and the capacity to educate others, presenting the ideal teacher as one who embodies both qualities in equal measure.
