New Delhi, June 1 (H.S.): The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee on Sunday announced the results of the JEE Advanced 2026. This year, Shubham Kumar from the Delhi zone secured the All India Rank (AIR) 1 by scoring 330 out of 360 marks. The second position was claimed by Kabir Chhillar, also from the Delhi zone, with 329 marks, while Jatin Chahar secured the third rank with 319 marks. Notably, candidates from the Delhi zone captured all three top positions in the examination.

IIT Roorkee released the results ahead of the scheduled time and also published the final answer key. Candidates can access their results on the official website using their roll number, date of birth, and registered mobile number.

A total of 187,389 candidates registered for JEE Advanced 2026, of whom 179,694 appeared for the examination. Out of these, 56,880 candidates qualified. Successful candidates will now be eligible to participate in the Joint Seat Allocation Authority Counselling for admission to various Indian Institutes of Technology. The list of qualified candidates includes 10,107 female students.

The cut-off for the General category this year was fixed at 92 marks, representing an increase of 18 marks compared to the previous year. The subject-wise cut-off was set at 8 marks. Approximately 31.65 percent of the candidates who appeared for the examination qualified, a performance considered better than in recent years.

Several candidates also delivered outstanding performances across different IIT zones. While Shubham Kumar topped the examination from the IIT Delhi zone, Mohit Shekhar Shukla from the IIT Madras zone secured the fourth rank. B. Jayakrishna Srinivas from the IIT Bombay zone finished sixth.

Among other notable performers, Nikunj Agarwal from the IIT Roorkee zone secured the 11th rank, Riddhesh Anant Bendale from the IIT Kanpur zone achieved the 18th rank, and Bhavesh Patra from the IIT Bhubaneswar zone secured the 29th position. From the IIT Guwahati zone, Yashraj Singh obtained the 122nd rank.

Among female candidates, Aarohi Deshpande from the IIT Delhi zone emerged as the highest-ranked woman candidate. She scored 280 out of 360 marks and secured the 77th position in the All India Rank list.

Notably, JEE Advanced serves as the gateway for admission to undergraduate programmes offered by the country's 23 Indian Institutes of Technology. With the declaration of results, the process of seat allocation and admissions for successful candidates is now set to begin.
