The minister’s message reflects the spirit of friendship and cooperation that continues to strengthen bilateral relations between India and Samoa. It also underscores India’s commitment to fostering closer ties with Pacific island nations through mutual engagement and collaboration.

Notably, Samoa celebrates its Independence Day annually on June 1. The day commemorates the country's attainment of independence in 1962, making it the first Pacific Island nation to achieve independence in the modern era.
