
NEW DELHI, June 1 (H.S.): Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Monday reviewed the quality and maintenance of national highway projects spanning 8,512 kilometres in Andhra Pradesh. The review was conducted based on inputs and feedback received through media reports and social media platforms.
According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, the review meeting was attended by Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Harsh Malhotra, officials of the National Highways Authority of India, senior officers of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, and project contractors.
During the meeting, Gadkari emphasized the importance of timely project implementation, strict adherence to quality standards, and the adoption of modern construction technologies. He stated that these measures would enhance the lifespan of highways, improve connectivity, accelerate economic growth, and ensure greater convenience for commuters.
The Union Minister also directed officials to undertake comprehensive monsoon preparedness measures. These include preventive maintenance, effective drainage management, and robust response mechanisms to minimize traffic disruptions during the rainy season while ensuring road safety and long-term infrastructure durability.
