Bhadohi,
01 June (HS): Nabeel Hayat Ansari of Uttar Pradesh has been detained for
reportedly secretly filming youngsters and distributing the footage on social
media. The arrest was made in response to a report filed in April through the
National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal. Ansari faces charges under the
Information Technology Act for similar violations. Nabeel Hayat Ansari, a
Kurauna village resident in Uttar Pradesh, was recently detained on suspicion
of secretly filming youngsters and posting the clip on social media, according
to authorities. The purpose for these acts was apparently to increase followers
and make profits.
The
investigation was initiated by a complaint submitted with the district cybercrime
unit through the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal earlier this year.
Investigators matched Ansari's mobile number and email address to the social
media account used to publish the footage.
Further
investigation revealed that between January 17 and April 6, Ansari posted
multiple films of children on Instagram, resulting in accusations under the
Information Technology Act, which forbids the publication or transmission of
sexually explicit information involving minors.
