New Delhi, June 1 (H.S.): After petrol and diesel, the price of the 19-kilogram commercial LPG cylinder has been increased with effect from today. In Delhi, the price of the cylinder has been raised by ₹42. Following the revision, the cost of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in the national capital has risen to ₹3,113.50. In Kolkata, the price has climbed to ₹3,255.50. In addition, the price of the 5-kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinder has been increased by ₹11. No change has been made to the price of the 14.2-kg domestic cooking gas cylinder. The revised rates for commercial cylinders have come into effect from today.

The major relief, however, comes from the Central Government’s decision to reduce export duties on petrol, diesel, and Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) from June 1.

According to gas distribution companies, the price of the 5-kg LPG cylinder in the national capital will now be ₹821.50. In Kolkata, the price of the commercial LPG cylinder has increased by ₹53.50, taking the cost of a 19-kg commercial cylinder to ₹3,255.50.

The Central Government has also announced a reduction in export duties on petrol, diesel, and ATF effective June 1. The government has halved the windfall gains tax on petrol exports to ₹1.50 per litre. The export tax on diesel has been reduced to ₹13.50 per litre, while the levy on ATF has been cut to ₹9.50 per litre.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the road and infrastructure cess on exports of petrol and diesel will remain nil. At the same time, there has been no change in the existing tax structure applicable to petrol and diesel meant for domestic consumption.
