New Delhi, June 1 (H.S.): Residents of Kakrola on Monday expressed their gratitude to the Delhi Government, including Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, for fulfilling their long-pending demand to rename Dwarka Metro Station as “Dwarka Kakrola.”

A delegation of residents from Kakrola village met Chief Minister Rekha Gupta at the Chief Minister’s Jan Seva Sadan and thanked her for addressing their years-old demand to change the name of Dwarka Metro Station. During the meeting, MLA Sandeep Sehrawat also met the Chief Minister along with citizens of the Matiala Assembly constituency, municipal councillors, mandal presidents, and party workers.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office, the decision represents a significant step toward recognizing and respecting local identity, heritage, and public sentiment.

MLA Sandeep Sehrawat described the renaming of Dwarka Metro Station as a historic decision closely linked to the sentiments of local residents. He stated that the demand had been raised by citizens for a long time and that the Chief Minister’s decision to honor public sentiment by accepting the request is a commendable move that acknowledges the region’s identity, history, and local culture.

The decision has been welcomed by residents, who view it as an important recognition of Kakrola’s historical and cultural significance within the Dwarka region.
