New Delhi, 09 May (H.S.):
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta attended the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected BJP government in West Bengal on Saturday. Describing the occasion as historic, Rekha Gupta paid homage to the people of Bengal and said that the Suvendu government will realize the dream of Sonar Bangla.
In a statement, the Chief Minister said that over the past 15 years, the people of Bengal witnessed an era of atrocities, suppression, and corruption, but now the people have democratically decided to bring about change to realize the Sonar Bangla dream. Today marks a new beginning for Bengal, where the state will progress with development and faith, marching step in step with the rest of the country.
Rekha Gupta stated that the era when incidents of corruption and atrocities surfaced during the previous government has now ended. She expressed confidence that under the new government's leadership, good governance, development, and public welfare will be prioritized in Bengal. The government formed under Suvendu Adhikari's leadership has sent a positive message that Bengal's future will now be bright.
She extended heartfelt congratulations from Delhi to Suvendu Adhikari and the people of Bengal. She remarked that this victory is not merely a triumph of political numbers but also the victory of the sacrifice of those 321 BJP workers who laid down their lives for Bengal's better future and the Sonar Bangla dream.
These workers gave their sacrifice not only for the BJP but for the coming generations of Bengal and the protection of democracy.
The Chief Minister said that the atrocities committed against women, youth, and political workers in Bengal had shamed democracy. The people have responded to this democratically, and now a new dawn of change has begun.
