Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya described the National Sports Federation Conference 2026 as a significant initiative towards preparing for India's upcoming global sporting events. He stated that this conference represents a coordinated step to strengthen preparations for Asian Games 2026, Commonwealth Games 2026, and Los Angeles Olympics 2028.
Dr. Mandaviya said on Thursday, The National Sports Federation Conference is a coordinated step towards preparing for India's upcoming global sporting competitions. To transform India into a sports superpower, long-term planning, scientific training, robust sports infrastructure, and continuous support for athletes are essential.
Emphasizing the need for better coordination between athletes, federations, and government, he said, India's sporting future depends on strong coordination between athletes, federations, and governments.
The Sports Minister stressed prioritizing transparency and athlete-centric administration in federations.
He added, Every federation's primary focus should be athlete welfare and athlete-centric administration. Transparency, timely elections, accountability, and strong institutional frameworks will strengthen the Indian sports system.
Delivering a stern message on eliminating doping, Dr. Mandaviya stated, Collective responsibility and strict action are needed to eradicate doping from the Indian sports ecosystem.
He appealed to federations, coaches, and support staff to actively contribute to developing a clean and transparent sports culture.
The Union Minister noted that the central government is continuously working to strengthen sports culture through initiatives like Khelo India, Fit India Movement, and the upcoming Khelo Bharat Mission. He highlighted scientific training, private sector participation, sports leagues, academies, and administrative reforms as the foundation for India's future sports success.

Sports Secretary Hari Ranjan Rao stated that a country with big dreams makes even bigger preparations, and today's discussions will shape India's sports future for 2036.
The conference extensively discussed promoting sports equipment manufacturing, scientific fitness protocols, strengthening anti-doping laws, technical reforms in national sports federations, increasing India's participation in global sports organizations, and hosting international sporting events.
