ADF Militants Slaughter 22 Civilians in Eastern Congo

Kinshasa (Congo), May 7 (HS): At least 22 civilians were killed in an attack by Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebels in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The ADF remains the deadliest and most ruthless rebel group operating in eastern Congo, originally formed in the mid-1990s as an anti-government insurgent faction in Uganda but now primarily spreading terror within Congo.

According to KBC Channel 1 News, ADF rebels launched an assault in the Beni area of North Kivu province's Beu Manyama town between late Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. The militants used sharp weapons to slaughter 22 people.

This group is an affiliate of the Islamic State (ISIS) and has killed thousands of civilians. Both the United States and the United Nations have designated the ADF as a terrorist organization.

Congolese army forces, United Nations peacekeepers, and Ugandan troops are conducting ongoing joint military operations to eliminate the ADF.
