Washington, 06 May (H.S.): United States President Donald Trump has extended formal congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) landmark triumph in the West Bengal assembly elections, characterizing it as a historic and decisive election victory.

This endorsement, conveyed through White House spokesperson Kush Desai, underscores the international resonance of the BJP's breakthrough, which saw the party secure over 200 seats in the 294-member assembly, enabling it to form its inaugural government in the state after ousting the incumbent Trinamool Congress regime.
