04 May (HS): PC Joshi, the spouse of former BJP MP Rita Bahuguna Joshi, died in
Lucknow's SGPGI on Monday. He died about 7 a.m., as reported by his wife Rita
Bahuguna Joshi on her X account. According to senior Congress leader Shekhar
Bahuguna, “PC Joshi had been ill for some time and was being treated at the
SGPGI in Lucknow. On Monday, his condition abruptly deteriorated, and he died. PC
Joshi was a mechanical engineer by profession who married Rita Bahuguna in
1976. He was noted for his straightforward, approachable, and disciplined
nature. The remains will be transferred to Prayagraj late Monday evening, and
his cremation would take place on Tuesday noon at Sangam Daraganj ghat with
Vedic-Sanatan ceremonies.” Shekhar Bahuguna informed that Vinita Bahuguna his
wife, Vijay Bahuguna ex-Uttarakhand Chief Minister along with his family have
brought the corpse to Prayagraj and final rites will take place on Tuesday
noon.
A
post penned by UP CM Yogi on X, reads as follows: “The sudden demise of the
husband of former MP Prof. Rita Bahuguna Joshi ji is extremely heartbreaking.
Humble tribute. I pray to Lord Shri Ram that the departed soul finds a place at
his divine feet and grants the grieving family the strength to bear this
immense sorrow. Om Shanti!”
Meanwhile,
authorities, social groups, and the general public mourned the passing of PC
Joshi. The City Congress Committee members expressed deep sorrow over the
sudden demise of Puran Chandra Joshi, husband of former Uttar Pradesh Congress
Committee President and former MP Dr. Rita Bahuguna Joshi. At an emergency
meeting held on Monday afternoon at the party office, Chowk under the presidentship
of City President Fuzail Hashmi, leaders described his demise as an irreparable
loss. It was stated that Engineer Joshi had retired from a senior officer
position at TSL. He was known as a kind-hearted person with a simple nature,
excellent behavior, and admirable personality.
On
this occasion, a two-minute silence was also observed for the peace of the
departed soul.
Former
UP Congress spokesperson, Kishore Varshney, Coordinator Harikesh Tripathi,
Mukund Tiwari, Parvez Siddiqui, Dr. A.D. Dubey, Afroz Ahmad, Anoop Tripathi,
Sushmita Yadav, spokesperson Shahnawaz Qureshi, Nayan Kushwaha, Pratima
Tripathi, Sartaz Mohammad, Rajkumar Shukla, Rakesh Patel, Ishtiyaq Ahmad,
