
No victory procession or ‘Gulal’ , it is tributes to
Ajit Pawar
Pune, 04 May (HS): As expected election in Baramati
is set to be a ponsided affair with Sunetra Pawar leading with about 62,000
vote. Sunetra Pawar is contesting by-polls in the vacancy created by the death
of her husband DCM Ajit Pawar in a plane crash in Baramati.
Voting for the by-poll was registered at 58.27 per
cent, which was less compared to the regular Assembly elections in 2024, which
was 71.86 p[r cent
A total of 23 candidates were the fray, although
none of the major political parties had fielded their candidates. Dhananjay
Munde’s wife and actor Abhijit Bichuke were known names. They have secured less
votes than NOTA (None Of The Above) option.
NO RALLY: Sunetra Pawar has appealed to the party
workers not to take out victory rally or use ‘Gulal’ following her victory. Her
election is a tribute to her husband and late Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
