Bhubaneswar, 04 May (H.S.): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has revoked the suspension of former Balasore MP and senior leader Kharabela Swain, who had earlier been suspended for alleged violation of party discipline.

Confirming the development, State Disciplinary Committee convenor Sudarshan Nayak said that the suspension order issued against Swain has been formally withdrawn.

He added that the decision was taken after due organisational deliberations.

Notably, Swain, a three-time Member of Parliament from the Balasore Lok Sabha constituency, had contested the previous election as an independent candidate after being denied a party ticket, following which the party had suspended him.
