Guwahati, 04 May (HS). In the ongoing Assam Assembly election results, candidates of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have secured decisive victories in the Majuli, Khumtai, and Tangla assembly constituencies.

From Majuli constituency, BJP candidate Bhuban Gam defeated his nearest rival, Congress candidate Dr. Indranil Pegu, by a margin of 35,300 votes. Gam secured a total of 78,324 votes, while Pegu received 43,024 votes. A total of 958 votes were recorded under NOTA. The result was declared after completion of 14 rounds of counting.

In Tangla constituency, BJP candidate Bikan Chandra Deka registered a massive victory over Congress candidate Rohit Pariga by 54,601 votes. Deka polled 84,309 votes, while Pariga managed 29,708 votes. NOTA received 2,603 votes. The results were declared after 21 rounds of counting.

Similarly, in Khumtai constituency, BJP candidate Mrinal Saikia defeated Congress candidate Roselina Tirkey by a margin of 58,412 votes. Saikia secured 91,127 votes, while Tirkey got 32,715 votes. A total of 2,146 votes were cast under NOTA. The result was announced after completion of 18 rounds of counting.-----------
