Chhatrapti Sambhajinagar, 30 May (HS): Manoj Jarange Patil has finally launched
his hunger strike in an agricultural farm on Saturday to press for his demand
for reservation to Maratha community. Efforts to convince Jarange by the State
Government failed. On Friday evening Jarange wanted issuance of GR (Government
Resolution as Per Satara Pact, caste validity as per the gazette and action
against officers who refused caste validity certificates.
Major
demands of Jarange Patil are– 1. Kunbi certificates to Marathas in Marathwada.
2. 19914-based
GR for Satara, Kolhapur, Aundh, Pune and Miraj dynasties.
3. Withdrawal
of offences registered against Marathas in the state.
4.
Those who died during the agitation should be given jobs in MSEDCL and MIDC.
5.
Start all schemes under SARATHI.
6. Validity
for issued Kunbi caste certificates.
7.
Dissolve Maratha Sub-committee, which is meaningless.
8.
Formation of Separate Maratha Kunbi Ministry.
9.
Extension to Shinde Committee for verification of castes of Marathas.
Chief
Minister had assured reservation for the Maratha community and is working with
full transparency. He had also assured that injustice will not be caused to OBCs.
However the government has not taken steps to resolve the issue, Jarange
alleged before launching the hunger strike.
CM
FADNAVIS:
Chief
Minister Devendra Fadnavis reiterated the government stand of reservation to
Marathas without affecting the OBC quota.
The
decisions, however, will be taken as per the existing law.
