
New Delhi, May 30 (H.S.): Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu interacted with residents on Saturday while taking a morning walk at Bonta Park, located in the Northern Ridge area near the University of Delhi. During his visit, he sought public feedback regarding the maintenance of the park and the quality of facilities available to visitors.
In a post on social media platform X, the Lieutenant Governor emphasized the significance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Fit India Movement*. He stated that healthy citizens, better public spaces, and active public participation constitute the strong foundation of a “Developed Delhi” (Viksit Delhi). He also reiterated his commitment to preserving and enhancing Delhi’s green spaces, often referred to as the city's “green lungs,” for future generations.
Sandhu said it was encouraging to see people exercising in the park and families spending quality time amidst greenery. He remarked that it was heartening to witness how conscious Delhi’s residents have become about their health and fitness.
During the interaction, local residents shared several suggestions and ideas for further improving the park’s facilities. Sandhu noted that public feedback plays a vital role in enhancing public spaces and making Delhi a better city for everyone.
The Lieutenant Governor affirmed that the administration remains fully committed to protecting Delhi’s green areas and improving them further. He said the objective is to ensure that all parks and public spaces remain clean, attractive, accessible, and well-equipped for people from all walks of life.
Appealing to citizens to contribute to the collective effort, Sandhu urged everyone to work together in making Delhi a cleaner, healthier, and greener city.
