
Guwahati, 03 May (HS). The Kamrup Metropolitan District administration has declared a dry day on May 4 in view of the vote counting process. The order was issued by the District Commissioner to ensure smooth and orderly conduct of the counting proceedings.
As per the directive, all wholesale and retail liquor outlets, warehouses and shops selling Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) as well as country liquor will remain closed until the completion of the vote counting process. The transportation of all kinds of liquor has also been strictly prohibited during this period.
Additionally, clubs, bars, hotels, small-scale liquor manufacturing units and local distilleries have been instructed to remain shut while the dry day is in force. The district administration has urged all licensed traders and the general public to strictly comply with the order, warning that any violation will invite stringent legal action.------------
