Faces
of youth blossomed upon receiving appointment letter
Lucknow,
03 May (HS): The shattering of a young person's dream is not just a betrayal of
that youth but also a betrayal of the future of the coming generation and
hinders development. Uttar Pradesh was not a sick state by itself; dishonesty
and corruption through discrimination in the selection process had made this
state sick and chaotic. As a state under curfew for months, no one felt safe in
Uttar Pradesh and there was so much discrimination in the selection process
that the Honourable Court had to stop it. The situation was such that our
Deputy Chief Minister was saying that someone else took the exam and someone
else received the appointment letter.
Chief
Minister Yogi Adityanath made these remarks on Sunday at a program to
distribute appointment letters to newly selected junior analysts
(pharmaceuticals) and dental hygienists held in the Lok Bhavan auditorium in
the capital. On this occasion, he handed out appointment letters to 357 junior
analysts (pharmaceuticals) newly selected by the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate
Services Selection Commission for the Food Safety and Drug Administration
Department and 252 dental hygienists newly selected for the Medical and Health
Department.
Recalling
an incident during his tenure as a Member of Parliament (MP) for Gorakhpur, he
said, Once, I was traveling somewhere. It was 4-5 pm. The highway ahead
was jammed. I asked why it was jammed. Police officers came and told me that a
young man had committed suicide. The village where the suicide occurred was
part of my constituency. I got out of my car and said, 'I will go and meet the
people.' The officers told me, There is a lot of anger among the
people. Don't go. I said, 'Brother, if there is anger today, I will have to go
to seek votes in the future, and even then there will be anger.' I said, 'I
will go.' People looked at me and calmed down. I was very shocked. I met the
family of the young man who had committed suicide. I asked how this incident
happened. The family said, 'His name had appeared in the merit list for the
Uttar Pradesh Police recruitment, but he was not given the appointment letter,
and because of this, he became depressed and committed suicide.'
He
said that every young person at that time was distressed by the recruitment
process of the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission and the Uttar Pradesh
Secondary Education Selection Commission, and the court's comments. Nine years
had passed, and a great deal had changed in those nine years. Many of you may
have been minors at the time. They don't know about that time: that someone who
wasn't eligible to become chairman, and someone with a fake degree was making
selections as chairman of the commission. This kind of chaos prevailed during
the Samajwadi Party government, where money transactions took place, and
recruitments were prevented.
Discussing
appointments and development work since 2017, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath
said that if there is a will to work, a clear government policy, and a clear
intention, then results are achieved. Today, as a result of efforts in this
direction, we have provided government jobs to over 900,000 young people. This
is a record for the highest number of recruitment processes conducted safely
and transparently, both in Uttar Pradesh and in any state in the country. The
Subordinate Selection Commission alone will complete 32,000 recruitments this
year, and the Education Selection Commission will also complete the recruitment
process for thousands of teachers. Similarly, the Uttar Pradesh Public Service
Commission has approximately 15,000 recruitments. The Uttar Pradesh Police
Recruitment and Promotion Board has currently completed the recruitment exams
for sub-inspectors and home guards. If we combine these, there are
approximately 45,000, and approximately the same number of recruitments are
underway. Within a year, i.e., by 26-27, there will be 150,000 recruitments in
Uttar Pradesh.
Talking
about the transparency and fairness of the recruitment process, he said that we
have also made strict laws to ensure that there is no breach in the recruitment
process in UP. If anyone is found indulging in any kind of malpractice in the
recruitment process, we have a law to punish him with life imprisonment and
confiscate his entire property. Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Minister
of State for Health Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh, Minister of AYUSH Department
Daya Shankar Mishra Dayalu, Principal Secretary Food and Drug Administration
Roshan Jacob and all the important officials were present in the program.
