Prayagraj,

03 May (HS): Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh will inaugurate North Tech Symposium

in Prayagraj on Monday. The North Tech Symposium is being jointly organised by

the Northern Command and Central Command of the Indian Army and the Society of

Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM), from May 04 to 06, 2026 at Prayagraj,

Uttar Pradesh. This will serve as a vibrant platform for showcasing and

integrating state-of-the-art indigenous technologies to overcome operational

challenges in the Northern Theatre and also across the entire Indian Army.

The

spirit that truly defines this initiative can best be described by the theme

chosen for the symposium which is 'Raksha Triveni Sangam - Where Technology,

Industry & Soldiering Converge'. The exhibition will feature a wide array

of participants including MSMES, private Defence Tech firms, start-ups and

innovators in uniform from across the country. 284 companies are setting up

stalls showcasing their latest innovations and technologies.

The

event aims to identify technologies suited for field deployment; maintenance

processes and streamline procurement to promote a sustainable, self-reliant

defence ecosystem for the Indian Army. The Indian Army has been highlighting

the operational relevance of cutting-edge technologies and the need for

continuous innovation to address evolving security challenges. North Tech

Symposium 2026 is expected to serve as a bridge between defence forces,

scientists, industry leaders and the academic community, fostering

collaboration aimed at strengthening national security and technological

excellence, informed Wg Cdr Debartho Dhar, Pro & Spokesperson, Ministry of

Defence, Prayagraj.
