Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu has directed officials to ensure prompt relief and assistance to the victims of the Vivek Vihar fire tragedy, even as he expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in the blaze. In a statement issued on Sunday, he conveyed his condolences to the families of those who lost their loved ones in the incident and called for swift action to support the affected households.

It may be recalled that a devastating fire broke out early Sunday morning in a residential building in Vivek Vihar, Shahdara, claiming the lives of nine people and leaving several others injured. The incident has sent shockwaves across the city, triggering an urgent focus on relief and rescue operations.

The Lieutenant Governor posted on the social‑media platform X, saying the tragedy has left him deeply saddened, and reaffirmed his solidarity with the bereaved families. He instructed officials to ensure that all necessary medical assistance is provided to the injured and that immediate relief and support are extended to those affected by the blaze.

He also acknowledged the efforts of Delhi Fire Service personnel and emergency teams, who have been working tirelessly to manage the situation and assist survivors.

The LG concluded by praying for the early recovery of the injured and asking for strength and courage for the families mourning their loved ones during this difficult time.
