A fierce fire broke out early Sunday morning in a four‑storey residential building in the Vivek Vihar area of Delhi, claiming the lives of nine people. In the wake of this tragic incident, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Minister of State for Corporate Affairs Harsh Malhotra have expressed their deep sorrow.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh conveyed his condolences on the social‑media platform X, saying:

“I am deeply pained by the loss of lives and property in the devastating fire at Vivek Vihar in Delhi. My thoughts are with the grieving families at this hour of sorrow. I also pray for the early recovery of those injured in this tragedy.”

Meanwhile, Union Minister Harsh Malhotra informed that the treatment of those who sustained minor injuries in the blaze is still underway. He expressed hope that all the injured could be discharged from hospital by the evening of the same day.
