Guwahati, 03 May (HS): Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma returned to Guwahati on Sunday after concluding his official visit to Japan, a day ahead of the Assam assembly election results.

The Chief Minister arrived in the city this morning after spending the previous night in Delhi. He was accompanied by Union Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita, Assam Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah and Chief Executive Member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council Tuliram Ronghang.

It may be noted that Sarma had travelled to Japan after completing his campaign tour in West Bengal, where he actively participated as a star campaigner for the BJP.

According to party sources, soon after his arrival in Guwahati, the Chief Minister is scheduled to hold a review meeting with party candidates through video conferencing later in the evening.-----------
