Guwahati, 03 May (HS). Assam BJP president Dilip Saikia on Sunday expressed confidence that the BJP-led alliance will form the government in the state for a third consecutive term, claiming a decisive mandate in the assembly elections.
Speaking a day ahead of the vote counting, Saikia asserted that the BJP alliance is set to secure more than 100 seats in the 126-member Assembly. He further claimed that the BJP alone would win over 80 seats, reflecting strong public support for the party’s governance.
Taking a dig at the opposition, Saikia said that rival parties would continue to claim they are forming the government until around 10:30 am on the counting day. However, he added that after 10:30 am, the results trend would clearly show the BJP-led alliance crossing the 100-seat mark and forming the government.
His remarks come at a crucial juncture as the state gears up for vote counting on Monday, with political parties eagerly awaiting the outcome.-----------
