New Delhi, May 29 (H.S.): Domestic bullion markets witnessed a sharp decline during early trading on Thursday, with gold and silver prices falling significantly across the country. Due to weakness in gold prices, the yellow metal became cheaper by ₹2,050 to ₹2,230 per 10 grams in most parts of the country, except Chennai, during the opening session. In Chennai, gold prices registered a comparatively lower decline of ₹1,500 to ₹1,640 per 10 grams.

Silver prices also recorded a steep fall, declining by as much as ₹10,000 per kilogram.

Following the drop in prices, 24-carat gold was trading between ₹1,56,050 and ₹1,58,170 per 10 grams in bullion markets across the country. Similarly, 22-carat gold was being sold in the range of ₹1,43,040 to ₹1,44,990 per 10 grams. Due to the continued weakness in silver prices, the metal was trading at ₹2,74,900 per kilogram in the Delhi bullion market.

In Delhi, 24-carat gold was trading at ₹1,56,200 per 10 grams, while the price of 22-carat gold stood at ₹1,43,190 per 10 grams. In the country’s financial capital Mumbai, 24-carat gold was being sold at ₹1,56,050 per 10 grams, whereas 22-carat gold was priced at ₹1,43,040 per 10 grams.

Similarly, in Ahmedabad, the retail price of 24-carat gold was recorded at ₹1,56,100 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was trading at ₹1,43,090 per 10 grams.

Apart from these major cities, in Chennai, 24-carat gold was trading at ₹1,58,170 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹1,44,990 per 10 grams. In Kolkata, 24-carat gold was being sold at ₹1,56,050 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold stood at ₹1,43,040 per 10 grams.

In Bhopal, the price of 24-carat gold was ₹1,56,100 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was trading at ₹1,43,090 per 10 grams.

In Jaipur, 24-carat gold was trading at ₹1,56,200 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹1,43,190 per 10 grams. Similarly, in Patna, 24-carat gold was priced at ₹1,56,100 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold stood at ₹1,43,090 per 10 grams.

In the Lucknow bullion market, 24-carat gold was trading at ₹1,56,200 per 10 grams, whereas 22-carat gold was being sold at ₹1,43,190 per 10 grams.

Like other parts of the country, bullion markets in Karnataka, Telangana, and Odisha also witnessed a sharp downward trend in gold prices. In the capitals of these states — Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Bhubaneswar — 24-carat gold was trading at ₹1,56,050 per 10 grams. Likewise, 22-carat gold in these cities was being sold at ₹1,43,040 per 10 grams.
