
New Delhi, May 28 (H.S.): Public sector steel producer Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EdCIL India Limited to establish “Smart Digital Classrooms” under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Ministry of Steel said that Steel Authority of India Limited, the country’s largest public sector steel producer and a Maharatna company, signed the MoU with EdCIL India Limited, a public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Education, on May 26 to promote inclusive education through SAIL’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
The ministry stated that the MoU between Steel Authority of India Limited and EdCIL India Limited was signed in the presence of SAIL Director (Personnel) K.K. Singh. Senior officials from both organisations were also present on the occasion. Under the agreement, ‘Smart Digital Classrooms’ will be established in schools located around SAIL’s operational areas.
The Ministry of Steel said that the collaboration aims to promote inclusive education and further enhance learning outcomes. The project is directly aligned with the objectives of the National Education Policy 2020 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal-4 (SDG-4), which seeks to ensure inclusive, equitable and quality education, along with lifelong learning opportunities for all.
