
New Delhi, May 28 (H.S.): The downward trend in gold prices continued in the domestic bullion market on Thursday. However, silver prices remained unchanged for the third consecutive day. Due to the weakness in gold prices, the yellow metal became cheaper by ₹550 to ₹600 per 10 grams during early trade in most parts of the country, except Chennai. In Chennai, gold prices recorded a sharper decline of ₹800 to ₹870 per 10 grams during initial trading.
Following the decline in prices, 24-carat gold was trading between ₹1,58,280 and ₹1,59,810 per 10 grams in bullion markets across the country. Similarly, 22-carat gold was being sold in the range of ₹1,45,090 to ₹1,46,490 per 10 grams. On the other hand, with no change in silver prices, the white metal continued to trade at ₹2,84,900 per kilogram in the Delhi bullion market.
In Delhi, 24-carat gold was trading at ₹1,58,430 per 10 grams, while the price of 22-carat gold stood at ₹1,45,240 per 10 grams. In the country’s financial capital, Mumbai, 24-carat gold was being sold at ₹1,58,280 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹1,45,090 per 10 grams. Similarly, in Ahmedabad, the retail price of 24-carat gold was recorded at ₹1,58,330 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at ₹1,45,140 per 10 grams.
Apart from these major cities, in Chennai, 24-carat gold was being sold at ₹1,59,810 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹1,46,490 per 10 grams. Likewise, in Kolkata, 24-carat gold was trading at ₹1,58,280 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold stood at ₹1,45,090 per 10 grams. In Bhopal, the price of 24-carat gold was ₹1,58,330 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was selling at ₹1,45,140 per 10 grams.
In Jaipur, 24-carat gold was being sold at ₹1,58,430 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹1,45,240 per 10 grams. In Patna, the price of 24-carat gold stood at ₹1,58,330 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was trading at ₹1,45,140 per 10 grams. In the bullion market of Lucknow, 24-carat gold was trading at ₹1,58,430 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹1,45,240 per 10 grams.
Like other states across the country, bullion markets in Karnataka, Telangana, and Odisha also witnessed weakness in gold prices on Thursday. In the capitals of these states — Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Bhubaneswar — 24-carat gold was trading at ₹1,58,280 per 10 grams. Similarly, 22-carat gold in these three cities was being sold at ₹1,45,090 per 10 grams.
