Guwahati, 27 May (HS): Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya attended the 126th foundation day celebration of Cotton University and presented the Governor’s Excellence Awards to meritorious undergraduate and postgraduate students at the university’s KBR auditorium on Wednesday.

Addressing the gathering, the Governor described Cotton University as a prestigious centre of higher education in the Northeast and lauded its contribution to Assam’s literary, cultural and intellectual landscape. He also congratulated the award recipients and urged students to contribute towards nation-building with dedication, innovation and strong moral values.

Eminent educationist Sourabh Pal delivered the foundation day lecture, while Vice Chancellor Ramesh Chandra Deka, Registrar Hiren Deka and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.-----------
