New Delhi, May 27 (H.S.): The prevailing severe heatwave conditions across the country were discussed during the Union Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also issued an appeal to the nation earlier in the day. Following the Prime Minister’s call, every ministry will now undertake necessary measures related to heatwave management within their respective sectors.

After the Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Modi, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that all ministers discussed the current heatwave situation during the meeting. He added that the Prime Minister had also appealed to the nation on the issue through a post on X earlier today. In response to the Prime Minister’s appeal, every ministry and department held discussions on specific actions that could be implemented within their respective domains.

Vaishnaw said, “The Prime Minister clearly stated that while dealing with such major challenges, we must move forward with a spirit of the ‘whole nation’ approach.”

He further informed that deliberations were held during the meeting regarding measures to provide relief to citizens and ensure their safety amid the heatwave conditions. Special emphasis was placed on facilities and initiatives that could be implemented in the Health Ministry, water resources sector, and other related areas.
