Nagaon (Assam), 26 May (HS): A late-night operation was carried out by the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption wing in Raha on Tuesday, targeting the residence of former Fisheries Department official Jyotiprasad Saikia.

Sources said the anti-corruption team conducted the raid at Saikia’s residence as part of an investigation. Following the operation, the former official was brought to the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption office for further interrogations.

Jyotiprasad Saikia had earlier taken voluntary retirement (VRS) reportedly with plans to contest elections. He had also sought a Congress party ticket ahead of the polls.
