Tehran, 25 May (H.S.): Amid ongoing discussions over a potential agreement between the United States and Iran, a senior Iranian lawmaker has made it clear that Tehran will not accept any compromise on matters concerning its national interests and strategic priorities. His remarks have sparked fresh debate over the future of the diplomatic process between the two countries.

Iranian parliamentarian Mahmoud Nabavian stated that any future agreement with the United States would not be considered beneficial for Iran unless the country’s key demands and security interests are adequately addressed. He emphasized that the primary objective of any deal must be the protection of Iran’s national interests rather than the weakening of its strategic position.

He further noted that several critical issues remain central to the negotiations from Iran’s perspective. These include regional rights and influence, matters related to economic sanctions, the status of Iranian assets frozen abroad, security guarantees, and rights associated with the country’s nuclear programme. According to him, these issues require balanced and transparent consensus before any agreement can move forward.

The statement comes at a time when diplomatic activity surrounding possible talks between the United States and Iran has intensified at multiple levels. In recent weeks, signals from both sides have indicated renewed efforts aimed at easing tensions and exploring the prospects of dialogue.
